What this page is

Warping Point sells the 001 as the faster Nightblade. The core on this page is Tri-Response MT: an MPP center, a TPE edge, and an EFC foam layer around the perimeter. They say that stack is for quick counters and compact swings.

The sheet does not list swing weight or twist weight. The handle is 5.5 inches, octagonal, with an edge guard. The face in our photo is the red-edge 001 and it prints UP-A.

Approval and warranty

The face is Aero Fusion, a carbon, fiberglass, carbon layup. Warping Point says the coating loses about 2% after 6 months and about 5% after a year of regular play. That is their claim, not a spin-durability tier. UPA-A approved. Not USAP approved. Warranty is 1 year, with a 30-day trial on paddles bought from Warping Point.

Who should order it

Order the 001 if you want the MPP and TPE build and your events take UPA-A. Skip it if the event is USA Pickleball. It is not legal there.

The 002 is the same $134.99 and the same shape, with an EPP and EVA core and no approval mark. The older NightBlade 16mm is a different paddle. Read the face before you add it.

Tradeoffs

Reasons to order

  • $134.99 with code PRH
  • UPA-A approved
  • MPP core with a TPE edge, the faster Nightblade build
  • 16.5 inch elongated with a 5.5 inch handle
  • 1-year warranty and a 30-day trial from Warping Point

Reasons to wait

  • Not USAP approved
  • Swing weight and twist weight are not on the sheet
  • Same price as the 002, so the core is the only reason to pick it
  • 5.5 inch handle is short for a two-handed backhand
  • Not the older NightBlade already on the site

Questions

Is the Nightblade 001 the same as the older NightBlade?

No. The 001 is the red-edge paddle with UP-A on the face. The older NightBlade 16mm is a different page.

Is the Nightblade 001 USAP approved?

No. Warping Point lists it as UPA-A approved and not USAP approved.

Nightblade 001 or 002?

Same price, $134.99 with PRH. The 001 is MPP and TPE, and it is UPA-A. The 002 is EPP and EVA, and it has no approval.
