What this page is

Warping Point sells the 002 as the more stable Nightblade. The core on this page is Tri-Response EE: an EPP center, an EVA edge, and an EFC foam layer around the perimeter. They say the EVA edge adds dwell, and the perimeter foam is there for off-center hits.

The sheet does not list swing weight or twist weight. The handle is 5.5 inches, octagonal, with an edge guard. The face in our photo is the white-edge 002. It does not print an approval mark.

Approval and warranty

The face is the same Aero Fusion carbon, fiberglass, carbon layup as the 001. Warping Point says the coating loses about 2% after 6 months and about 5% after a year of regular play. That is their claim, not a spin-durability tier. Not USAP approved. Not UPA-A approved. Warranty is 1 year, with a 30-day trial on paddles bought from Warping Point.

Who should order it

Order the 002 if you want the EPP and EVA build and you do not need a tournament stamp. Skip it for any sanctioned event. The sheet lists neither USAP nor UPA-A.

The 001 is the same $134.99 if the event is UPA-A. The older NightBlade 16mm is a different paddle.

Tradeoffs

  • 1-year warranty and a 30-day trial from Warping Point

Reasons to wait

Questions

Is the Nightblade 002 tournament legal?

Warping Point lists it as not USAP approved and not UPA-A approved. Do not take it to a sanctioned event.

Nightblade 001 or 002?

Same $134.99 with PRH. Buy the 001 for UPA-A and the MPP core. Buy the 002 for the EPP and EVA core if you do not need an approval.

Is the Nightblade 002 the older NightBlade?

No. The 002 is the white-edge paddle. The older NightBlade 16mm is a different page.
