What Friction Pro V2 is for
Friction Pro is RPM's spin-identity range, built on an Axial Carbon layup with a CarbonBite surface. V2 is the refinement pass, and the thing it does that no other RPM line does is stability: the widebody V2's 7.2 twist weight is the highest figure we have recorded on an RPM paddle, and higher than almost anything else on this site.
It is also the only current RPM range with a real thickness choice. The Q2 line is 16mm across every shape; Friction Pro V2 gives you 14mm and 16mm in both the widebody and the hybrid.

Where our numbers stop
We publish measured swing and twist weights for the two widebodies and the elongated. For the two flat-top hybrids, independent figures are not out yet, and their spin sits in the Friction Pro V2 peer class of roughly 2,250–2,300 RPM rather than on a lab page of their own.
We would rather say that than fill the gap with a plausible-looking number. Their scores below come from the family's construction, published shape data and how the measured siblings behave.
Widebody V2 16mm — the most stable RPM you can buy
A 7.2 twist weight is the headline and it is not a small thing. It buys 8.8 forgiveness and 8.4 control, both the best in the range, on a manageable 111 swing weight. Spin stays strong at ~2,296 RPM and 9.2.
At 8.16 oz it is the heaviest paddle here, which is part of how it gets that stability. If off-center contact is the thing costing you points, this is the RPM to buy — including ahead of the Q2 widebody, whose 6.9 twist weight is a step below.
Elongated V2 16mm — reach with a usable sweet spot
The elongated V2 matches the widebody on overall score at 8.9, with the most power in the range (9.1) and a 115 swing weight that plows through drives. Its 6.2 twist weight is well below the widebody's, but 8.5 forgiveness is genuinely good for an elongated — the V2 refinement shows up here more than anywhere.
It is the pick for singles and baseline players who want RPM spin with reach and serve leverage.
Hybrid Flat Top V2 — the shape most people will actually play
The flat-top hybrid sits between the two at 8.85 in 16mm: 9.0 power, 8.2 control, 8.6 forgiveness and 9.25 spin, the highest spin score in the range. If you want the Friction Pro identity without committing to either extreme of the shape ladder, this is it.
The 14mm version drops to 8.7. You gain pop (9.2 against 8.9) and power (9.15 against 9.0) and lose control (7.8 against 8.2) and forgiveness (8.2 against 8.6). That is the same trade the widebody pair makes, in the same direction.
14mm or 16mm?
Both pairs move the same way, so the rule is simple. Going 16mm to 14mm on the widebody: power 8.9 → 9.05, pop 8.8 → 9.0, control 8.4 → 8.0, forgiveness 8.8 → 8.3, twist weight 7.2 → 6.8. On the hybrid: power 9.0 → 9.15, pop 8.9 → 9.2, control 8.2 → 7.8, forgiveness 8.6 → 8.2.
Take 14mm if you want a firmer, faster ball and your resets already hold up. Take 16mm — and specifically the widebody — if you want the most margin RPM offers. Because 14mm costs you overall score in both pairs, most players should default to 16mm.
Friction Pro V2 or Q2?
Same price, same code, different jobs. The Q2 Widebody 16mm is the higher-scoring paddle at 9.2 against the best Friction Pro's 8.9, and it is faster at 107 swing weight against 111. For most players it is simply the better buy, and our Q2 comparison covers that family.
Friction Pro V2 wins on two specific things: the 7.2 twist weight, which no Q2 comes close to, and the 14mm option, which no Q2 offers at all. If either of those is what you came for, buy here. Otherwise buy the Q2 widebody.
