The two decisions, in the order you should make them
Jade is a 2×2 grid: two shapes, two thicknesses. Take them one at a time.
Shape first. Widebody or elongated is a bigger difference than the millimetres. The widebodies carry twist weights of 6.8–6.9; the elongateds sit at 6.0–6.2. That gap is why the widebodies score 8.6 and 8.2 for forgiveness against the elongateds' 8.2 and 7.8. Choose elongated because you want reach and a longer lever on drives, not because it sounds like the more serious paddle.
Thickness second. Going from 16mm to 14mm buys pop and costs control, consistently, in both shapes. On the widebody it is power 8.8 → 9.0 and control 8.3 → 7.9. On the elongated it is power 8.9 → 9.05 and control 8.0 → 7.6. If you already reset well and want the ball to leave faster, 14mm. If your soft game is the part you are working on, 16mm.
Run both decisions and you land on one of four paddles at the same price, which is a nicer problem than most brands give you.
Jade Widebody 16mm — the one to order
This is the best-balanced Jade and the highest rated at 8.75. It has the highest twist weight in the family (6.9) and the second-lowest swing weight (107), which is the combination that makes a paddle feel easy without feeling dead. Power 8.8 and pop 8.7 are still strong; you are not giving up much to get the stability.
If you are buying a Jade for doubles — and most people are — this is the variant.
Jade Widebody 14mm — more pop, less margin
The 14mm widebody swings the lightest of the four at 104 and has the fastest hands (8.9 maneuverability). Power climbs to 9.0 and pop to 8.95, the best in the family outside the 14mm elongated.
Control drops to 7.9 and forgiveness to 8.2. That is the honest cost of the thinner core. Take it if you like a firmer, quicker ball and are confident in your resets.
Jade Elongated 16mm — reach without giving up everything
The elongated 16mm is the reach option that still behaves. 112 swing weight, 6.2 twist weight, 8.9 power and 8.2 forgiveness. Against the elongated 14mm it keeps meaningfully more control (8.0 vs 7.6) for very little lost pop.
If you want an elongated Jade, this is the sensible one.
Jade Elongated 14mm — for specialists only
The thinnest, longest Jade has the most power (9.05) and pop (9.0) in the family, and the lowest control (7.6), forgiveness (7.8) and twist weight (6.0). It is a drive-and-put-away paddle that will punish you off-center.
Buy it if you know that describes your game. It is not a first RPM.
