The Diesel looks different the moment you see it: a wide, nearly square face with a short 5" handle. All that face width puts mass out at the edges, so off-center contact barely turns the paddle in your hand. That is the point of this shape.
The price is swing speed. At 8.7 oz and a swing weight near 122, it is far heavier to swing than the Jade Widebody (107) or the Q2 Widebody (107). Drives and blocks feel planted and heavy, and the EPP foam gives the ball a longer dwell than a crisp carbon paddle. Fast hands exchanges ask you to start early.
The balance sits about 23.8 cm from the butt cap, almost even and a touch toward the handle, which keeps it from feeling head heavy despite the weight.
Approval and warranty
SICmatrix is RPM's silicon carbide grit, the same family as the Jade. On the Diesel it measures about 8.6 µm of roughness, above most faces we track, so spin comes from the surface as much as from your swing. USA Pickleball approved with PBCoR .43 on the face. UPA-A is not listed.
Who should order it
Buy the Diesel if you like a foam dwell feel, you mishit more than you would like, and you want a rough grit face doing the spin work. The wide square face is the most forgiving shape RPM makes.
Skip it if you want a quick paddle at the kitchen: a swing weight near 122 is among the heaviest we have. Newer players also have lighter, easier options, like the Q2 Widebody at $212.49 with PRH.
