What this page is

Honolulu built the J6M+ around a softer bottom end: more dwell time and deeper ball pocketing on dinks, drops and resets, then a lively rebound when you attack. That softer feel is relative to Honolulu's Core Reactor (CR) Crystal Blue paddles. We have not played the J6M+ yet, so this is the brand's description and what the build points to.

The construction is Honolulu's Classic Plus floating core: a fully floated MPP core with an EVA outer ring, without the Dynamic PowerFlex design of the Core Reactor series. Honolulu says the design sat in its vault since the early Generation 4 days and went through nearly five months of playtesting with the Crystal Blue surface since June.

The outline is the J6 elongated shape at 16.48 × 7.52 inches with a 6-inch grip (measured including the taper above the grip wrap), which suits two-handed backhands. Honolulu's published ranges, 8–8.2 oz, swing weight 111–116 and twist weight 6.2–6.7, match the J6CR Crystal Blue's published ranges.

Approval and warranty

Crystal Blue Endurance Surface / Blue Grit is Honolulu's patent-pending crystal-infused particulate process, built for spin, ball bite and long-term surface durability. The J6CR Crystal Blue is spin durability Tier 1 in independent lab testing; that result belongs to the J6CR, and the J6M+ shares the surface family but has not been tested itself.

Every Crystal Blue face looks a little different. Honolulu says natural variation in texture, grit distribution and shading is normal and not eligible for exchange or warranty. The paddle has a 1-year warranty and includes a premium waterproof cover with a hanging clip, a $25 value.

Who should order it

The J6M+ is for players who want Honolulu's durable Crystal Blue grit and J6 reach without paying $195. Honolulu pitches it from advanced beginners to pro-level players who like a soft, cushioned feel for the short game and still want power when they attack.

If you want Honolulu's Core Reactor response, the J6CR Crystal Blue ($175.50 with PRH) is the reviewed elongated. If you want MPP with Core Reactor and Dynamic PowerFlex, look at the J6CR M 105 ($175.50 with PRH). For a hybrid, the J2CR Crystal Blue is our top pick.
