The Spartus Spitfire Widebody is the 16" x 8" Spitfire.
Two shapes now: this widebody, and the elongated we already review. The face also prints STANDARD. That is Spartus's label for this widebody, not a third paddle. About 7.8 oz, swing weight ~107, twist weight ~7.1, spin around 2,340 RPM in our measurement pass. $109.99 → $98.99 with PRH (10%) at gospartus.com/PRH. USAP. If you only buy one Spitfire, buy the widebody.

On-Court Feel
The elongated Spitfire already had the grit. This one keeps that bite and gets out of the way. Swing weight around 107 is a different paddle in a hands battle. Blocks come back square. Resets do not need the big prep the elongated asks for.
Spin is still the reason to buy a Spitfire. Rolls dip. Serves have shape. The foam is lively enough to speed the ball up without feeling like a trampoline on every dink.
My brother grabbed it for mixed because the elongated was slowing him down at the kitchen. He did not give it back. That is usually the tell.
Performance & Testing
The Spartus Spitfire Widebody went through our standard on-court protocol - drills, rec play, and at least one tournament match. How it plays reflects consensus feedback from the group, not a single reviewer's opinion.
Grit & Durability
PermaGritNano is the same face family as the elongated Spitfire. It starts grabby. Wipe ball dust between games. Treat long-term grit the same way as the elongated: good early, watch it after a month of hard play.
Who It's For
Doubles players who wanted the Spitfire and got tired of the elongated swing. Fast hands, spin, $98.99 with PRH.
Skip if you want max reach and a heavier plow. That is still the elongated Spitfire. Skip if you need a true control paddle for soft resets all night.
