The short answer
These two land in the same place from different directions. Both are 16mm foam paddles that cost about $99 with a code, both are USAP approved, both are sold on grit that is supposed to outlast normal peel-ply, and both measure around 2,350 RPM. On paper they are the same purchase.
The difference that matters is inventory, not performance: the Spitfire comes in elongated and widebody, and the V-Sol Tour comes in three shapes: Bloom (widebody), Flash (hybrid) and Elongated. Elongated against elongated: the Spitfire wins
This is the only true like-for-like matchup here, and the Spitfire takes it 8.8 to 8.5. The margin is not in the headline numbers, it is in what happens when you do not hit the middle: 8.7 forgiveness against 7.5, and 7.9 control against 7.2. A 1.2-point forgiveness gap between two paddles at the same price is large.
The Spitfire is also the lighter and faster of the two: about 7.7 oz against 8.0, swinging ~115 against 118. Vatic's own notes on the Tour Elongated flag the same thing we measured: slower hands than the hybrid Flash, and off-center drives that leak pace on a 6.3 twist weight.
What the Tour Elongated gives you back is a harder ball. 9.0 power against 8.5, and 8.9 pop against 8.1. If you want an elongated paddle purely to drive and serve, that is a real reason to pick it, and it is the only reason we would.
The Tour's actual advantage is the Bloom
The best V-Sol Tour is not the elongated one. The Bloom widebody scores 8.6, the highest of the three, and it is the only paddle in this comparison with a control score above 8.0. It is also the most forgiving Tour at 8.4, and it swings faster than the elongated because the shape puts less mass out front.
That makes it the answer to a question the Spitfire cannot answer at all: what is the best foam widebody around $100 with durable grit? Spartus does not make one. If you play a widebody and you are not switching, the Bloom is the buy on this page.
The Flash hybrid sits between them at 8.55: more power than the Bloom, less control, a hybrid outline, and a choice of 5.3" or 5.6" handle. One warning Vatic's own catalogue earns: the Tour Flash is a different paddle from the older V-SOL Pro Flash, and they are easy to confuse on the same storefront. Grit: two long-life claims, one with more evidence
Both brands sell these on surface longevity. Spartus calls it PermaGritNano, Vatic calls it Evergrit, and both are pitched as holding texture longer than the peel-ply faces that smooth out in a couple of months.
On measured bite the Spitfire is ahead: a 9.5 spin score against 9.2–9.25 across the Tour range, despite nearly identical RPM readings. That gap is our scoring of how the face behaves on intentional brush, not just the number a spin rig returns.
On longevity, neither has the track record to settle it. We flag in the Spitfire review that PermaGritNano still needs extended play data, and Evergrit is equally new. Treat both claims as promising rather than proven, and buy on how the paddle plays today.
Stock is a real consideration on the Tour
